ContaX 1.5.5 Released

We released 1.5.5 of
ContaX today. This is probably the last release prior to the MySQL Multi-User version which is due soon (I said this last time, but I was mistaken
).
1.5.5 has the following small but useful update:
Attached Vault documents from ooSooM are now shown against the appropriate contact within ContaX and can be opened in their original application by double clicking them.
You can see this in the annotated screenshot below:
This is a small but useful feature that gives added value to the document management features of the ContaX CRM solution.

ContaX 1.5.2 Released

We released 1.5.2 of
ContaX today. This is probably the last release prior to the MySQL Multi-User version which is due soon.1.5.2 has the following updates:

The information below is repeated from an earlier post and answers some of the questions ContaX, the MySQL Edition:
We’ve been working hard on the Multi-User version of
ContaX CRM recently. ContaX CRM has been a great success, people generally seem to like the simple approach to CRM and the interaction with the other R10Office products such as ooSooM and R10BatchMail.However, the current version of ContaX works against
SQLite which is a Single User database making ContaX CRM more suitable for Individuals, or the Self Employed.A Multi-User version of ContaX CRM has always been on the cards but development has been accelerated due to the many requests from potential customers who desperately need an easy to use CRM package for their small business and they don’t want to spend the earth. In my opinion Mac users particularly have hardly any decent choices in this category of software.
There are three main areas that I am being regularly asked about concerning the Multi-User version of ContaX. How the pricing will work, Can I upgrade and what database(s) will be supported.
The licensing will be very simply a multiple of the Single User price and a one off additional fee of £100. For example, let's assume you require a 10 user license for ContaX. ContaX retails at £44. Therefore your price would be:
Additional users would be £44. Licenses are 'Mix and Match' and will work on either Mac OSX or Microsoft Windows.
ContaX Upgrade to Multi-User
To upgrade from the Single User version of ContaX requires only that you purchase the Multi-User License. The program is the same whether you are Single or Multi-User.
ContaX Multi-User Databases
The initial plan was to make the first supported Multi-User database
REAL Server from REAL Software. REAL Server is an incredibly easy to use, inexpensive and powerful database. Listening to our customers however has made us change our minds and put our development efforts towards making the first supported Multi-User database MySQL.MySQL is incredibly popular, it has a lot of loyal supporters, a lot of expertise is available and best of all it is available free of charge. We expect MySQL support to be available within the next couple of weeks.
Additional database support, including REAL Server, will follow in due course. We are developing a powerful object oriented structure that will help us support multiple databases whilst refusing to compromise on speed or features. See my separate blog post for details.

First Arten Science Updates of 2010

The four main components of the
R10Office suite have all been updated today.
ContaX CRM Each application has been updated so that when the program is run for the first time a default database is created, rather than the user having to create it manually. In addition, when downloading an update a message is shown to the user explaining the procedure that should be followed. Both of the above features are designed to make life easier for the user and to avoid any areas of potential confusion. ooSooM has received a new, much asked for, feature. The addition of ’Tick Boxes’ against each Todo Item. To mark an item as Complete you can just click the box. An Archive feature will be added in a future release, that will take each ’ticked’ item and store them separately under an Archive heading. That’s all for now folks

ContaX CRM, our Cross Platform Contact Relationship Management System, Version 1.2.2 has just been released. This update is free of charge to existing users.
There a few bug fixes, an option to delete the user defined connections (yep - a silly oversight!) and there is also a ‘Me’ button on the main window which takes you directly to a pre-defined contact. More about that on a blog post coming soon.

If you own an R10Cipher license then this update is perfect for you, if you don’t then you should purchase one immediately
With this update and your R10Cipher license you can encrypt your contact information on an individual record basis. You choose which of your contacts you’d like to obscure the details for and they will be encrypted using the R10Cipher encryption engine.

ContaX CRM Updated to Version 1.1.0

ContaX CRM, our Cross Platform Contact Relationship Management System, Version 1.1.0 has just been released. This is quite an interesting update with a great new feature. This new feature is User Definable Connections / Relationships.
User Definable Connections / Relationships allows you to setup your own descriptive relationships within the ContaX Preferences, and then connect your contacts together using these relationships. The following are examples and ideas for the kinds of relationships you could setup:
Associate
Referrer
Recommended By
Group
Trade Association
Friend
Subsidiary
Relative
BNI Chapter
Network Group
HOG Chapter
For relationships such as Trade Association, BNI Group and HOG Chapter you would obviously apply the organisation name to the description, for example: Sherwood HOG, BNI Phoenix etc.
The Mac OSX New Connections window is shown below:
Relationships are set as either Outgoing or Incoming by ContaX. From the ContaX main screen assume I have selected contact A. I select the Connections tab and press the ‘New Connection’ button. I then choose contact B and a connection type of ‘Subsidiary’. In this example the connection is set so that contact B is a subsidiary of contact A. contact A has an Outgoing relationship and contact B has an Incoming relationship. The relationship can be viewed from the perspective of either contact A or contact B and it will be shown as Outgoing or Incoming appropriately.
This new facility is ideal for exploring the relationships between your contacts, recording them, evaluating them and viewing them with a view to working your contacts whether for the purposes of generating new business, marketing to existing customers or just keeping your data up to date, complete and as accurate as possible.

Finally, Contax CRM has been released. Approximately a month later than originally envisaged, but better late than never.
